Drive-In Date with Lincoln

Josh and I have been talking about needing to spend some quality one-on-one time with just Lincoln to ensure that he remembers how much we adore him and that it isn't all about Brooklyn just because she is more dependent.  We  decided to take him to dinner and then that turned into dinner and his first trip to the drive-in.  The Skyline Drive-In was playing Brave and Madagascar 3, perfect!  Danette took Brooklyn for the night and got to spend some on-on-one time with her while we headed to town for our "family date."  We of course had to stop and stock up on snacks for the movies.  Lincoln was so excited about holding all of our treats in the cart.  He was spoiled and not only got treats, but picked out some new Lightning McQueen sunglasses and a a new Lightning McQueen beach towel.  I have to admit spoiling him was really fun :-)
We then headed to dinner.  Josh's coworkers had been raving about an authentic Mexican restaurant in Tumwater, Ramirez Mexican, so we decided to check it out.  It is a restaurant, full-service Mexican grocery store, butcher shop, and bakery.  The food was delicious and we all shared our various dishes.

We met our friends Chris and Tasha and their kids at their house before caravaning to the Drive-In.  The boys were pretty excited to see one another again.  We were surprised to find that Josh, Daphnee and their boys were enjoying a night at the drive-in as well.  Before the debut of the movies the kids ran around and played in the grass field.  Brave was the first movie and the verdict is still out on whether the story line held his attention, the fact that it was his first movie seen on the big screen, or the fact that he was able to eat popcorn and cookies at will...  Madagascar 3 was second and he really liked it except he was so tired he fell asleep on my lap about half way through.  I was surprised he made it that long!  Lincoln watched a lot of Madagascar with his head out the sunroof!  It was a PERFECT evening and I am really looking forward to our next "family date," maybe we will take Lincoln to his first Mariners game?
