Today we celebrated a tremendous accomplishment from an amazing woman. Jamie (Wilson) Bloom celebrated one year of sobriety! It was so touching to see a family come together to not only celebrate, but show their continued support of a fellow family member. Everyone of course enjoyed delicious food, the chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting to be specific (it is a staple in the Brannin/Cummins party menu.) Everyone visited. Everyone doted on little miss Brooklyn. Everyone made a wish for Jamie. This was the highlight of the afternoon. This was what it was all about. The whole family took turns making wishes for the year ahead of Jamie in the new life that she has battled for. It is to help her keep in the forefront of her mind everything she has to look forward to and everything she has worked so hard for in the last year. There wasn't a dry eye in the house, well shop...
My wish for Jamie in the coming year is that she will be blessed with many family memories just like this one that we celebrated with her today.

Happy Birthday Jamie!!! Sorry we weren't able to be there. I wish for you a year of true Joy. You've always had an amazing sense of humor, but Joy is that thing that bubbles up inside when you see a rainbow, or a puppy, or you discover you can do something you never dreamed possible. It is not mere happiness, for happiness is fleeting. It is hope...with bubbles. :) You go girl! Love you lots! Mark & Heather
ReplyDeleteP.S. Mark actually just wishes we would stop talking about all this touchy-feely stuff. Ha ha ha! He wishes you the very best life has to offer and lots of crazy cake.
Happy Birthday Jamie :)

ReplyDelete(Ok, lets see if I can do this right this time) So proud of you that first you chose sobriety and second that you made it through the tough first year! So happy that you are once again participating in life and in the family. I know there will be many more good years to come! Love you lots. Danette
