Brooklyn 10 Months

Ten months old and two months till Christmas?!  Yep, when I look and my beautiful baby girl I not only see the most adorable face that brightens up my days, but also I see a living breathing Christmas Count Down Ticker...  Which meant I really need to get serious about planning her 1st birthday party as well.  With Halloween next week and Thanksgiving just after that, time is of the essence.  This month Brooklyn has mastered standing for pretty much any period of time on her own.  Steps by herself are still very wobbly and more often than not land her on her bum.  She now has 8 teeth and has found her rather high pitched girly scream.  It's pretty funny.  She is enjoying mimicking everything from screams, to hand slapping, to coughing.   Lincoln is her favorite person and he makes her laugh like no one else.  Just yesterday Josh held Brooklyn up on Lincolns shoulders as he ran all throughout the house and she was laughing hysterically.  I am going to miss their baby laughter filling our home.  Its one of the best stress relievers I've yet to encounter.

More pictures to come...

Fall

Fall is here, we'll according to the calendar...  The weather however has decided to linger in her summer gown  for a bit longer than usual. And I must say as much as I admire fall, this summer-fall hybrid is absolutely breathtaking.  I've been fortunate enough to have taken advantage of the weather by spending time with my precious children outside.

Lincoln and I had an opportunity to watch the salmon at Tumwater Falls Park a couple weeks ago. We had dentist appointments so I took the day off and we had a mother/son date. All was great until we stumbled upon the harvesting of the salmon eggs. That in itself may not seem horrible, but watching them beat the salmon to death with a base ball bat was a bit too much for this mom!  Luckily Lincoln didn't witness much and I don't think he knew exactly what was going on. I'm taking the ostrich approach and hoping that's the case...

Friday the kids got to pick out their pumpkins in my parents
pumpkin patch. Lincoln may have been most excited to be in the dirt.  Though I'm positive pumpkin carving/decorating will be a blast this year.

Today we headed to The Rutledge Corn Maze with Danette. We did not even come remotely close to finding all of the check points (I blame the three year old that was allowed to lead the way.) The weather was perfect and  despite Brooklyn escaping her belted seat in the wagon, the dust engulfing us, the wagon attempting to eject its passengers (by no fault of the driver mind you), and entering the maze without a full size map, a blast was had by all. And to boot We nearly made it to the end without a complete face plant in the dust, nearly... ;)
